The literary festival, running from February 1 to 5, will feature sessions in 16 Indian and 8 international languages.
Every year, we attempt to increase the standard', says Jaipur Literature Festival co-director and novelist William Dalrymple, as the seventeenth edition of the extravaganza kicks out on February 1 and lasts five days.
The literary festival will feature linguistic diversity, with programmes in 16 Indian and 8 international languages. Indian languages include Assamese, Awadhi, Banjara Language — Lamani (Lambada), Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Kurukh, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Sanskrit, Tamil, Toda, and Urdu.
The festival's 2024 edition will feature approximately 550 speakers and artists of various nationalities, as well as recipients of major awards such as the Booker, the International Booker, the Pulitzer, the Sahitya Akademi, the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature, the JCB Prize for Literature, and many others. It will cover a wide range of topics, including fiction, nonfiction, literary criticism, history, politics, current affairs, economics, poetry, art, culture, architecture, translation, graphic novels, gender, science, medicine, food, biographies, memoir, and mythology, among others.
At a recent preview held at the Leela Palace in Delhi, author and festival co-director Namita Gokhale stated, "In our seventeenth year, we remain committed to the rich diversity of our multilingual literary heritage."
We have writers from more than twenty-five countries. Sixteen Indian languages will be represented, including some with evocative oral traditions. We investigate a wide range of concepts and issues, from mathematics to music, camels to food, the environment to economics, and fiction to faction."
Dalrymple stated that they would feature practically all of the year's most recognised writers from throughout the world.

The Festival consistently attracts a large number of Delhi readers, writers, and literature fans, and our list of star writers includes many of the city's most prominent literary heavyweights.

According to Sanjoy K. Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, which produces the Jaipur Literature Festival, their mission is one of "inclusivity, uniting the finest in literary excellence and fostering interdisciplinary conversations on a global scale".
